A Universal Remote for All Your Tech Needs: A User Perspective on Remote Incident Manager

Pneuma Solutions Team • September 22, 2023

The Remote Incident Manager logo symbol has the letters RIM surrounded by four blue circles representing remote target machines. To the right of the logo symbol are the words Remote Incident Manager.

The unsung hero of my tech-support journey

When we launched the RIM It to Win It promotional contest, we were surprised, honored and humbled by the inflow of moving stories from our user community. One in particular stood out, as it speaks to companies who have yet to make the move just as much as it gives us an idea on how RIM has helped them. Here, without further ado, is this community’s very own Casey Matthews.

As a technical support specialist operating in both Windows and Mac environments, I’m no stranger to the jigsaw puzzle that is remote access software. Each piece flaunts its own quirks and idiosyncrasies, demanding its own time and space.

Inclusive Design over Incidental Accessibility: Why Your Existing Remote Desktop Solution May Not Be Serving You as Well as You Think

Pneuma Solutions Team • June 26, 2023

Introduction

It is easy for a visually impaired support technician or recipient to determine that Remote Incident Manager clearly surpasses any industry-standard offering. We even have a Self Advocacy Kit written from the point of view of a visually impaired support person. But we’ve all done comparison shopping at one time or another for anything from home/office renovation to a new phone upgrade, and that involves none other than making your own point-by-point comparison of each item derived from various spec sheets, online reviews, etc. This can be quite difficult for anyone who has not had direct experience with the product being looked into.

Deck Chairs On The Titanic

Mike Calvo • April 15, 2009

It’s April 15th. Tax day tea party fanatics are holding a national protest against government spending. Of course government spending keeps us blind people going. Without SSDI and government subsidized technology and training, most of us would be a lot worse off than we are today. What may look like waste to conservatives looks like a lifeline to us.
Today is also the 97th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. The largest, most luxurious ship ever built sunk on its maiden voyage after hitting two icebergs late on the night of April 14th. It sank two and a half hours later, early in the morning on April 15th and more than 1500 people were lost.

Serving More People, Better, And For Less

Mike Calvo • May 8, 2008

“The baby boomers are coming! The baby boomers are coming!” You can hear the cry ringing out in agencies and organizations that work with blind and low vision people throughout the country. And, just when they need more money and resources to deal with the influx of newly blind seniors, the Federal and state governments, feeling the crunch of a poor economy and a raging Federal deficit, are scaling back. Our brave, blind services militia is standing exposed, running out of ammunition, and seeing the hoard descending upon them. Wise people know that if this first line of defense fails and cannot contain the influx of newly blind seniors helping the majority of them to live independently with a high quality of life, society will feel the impact several times over with Medicare and Medicaid costs soaring and a huge demand society cannot fill for specialized housing, transportation, personal attendants, and more.
