Dear RIM Users,
We want to inform you about an upcoming change regarding the operating system support in Remote Incident Manager (RIM).
PneumaSolutions is preparing to discontinue support for the following operating systems:
- Windows 7
- Windows 8
- Windows 8.1
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Windows Server 2012
This change is scheduled to take effect on February 14.
Key Changes
- End of automatic updates: Following the discontinuation of legacy Windows support, current versions of RIM will not install and automatic updates will cease to function. This means that after the final build with legacy support, no further installations or updates can be performed on these systems. We will offer the last Windows 7 compatible version at getrim.app/w7
- Extended Protocol Compatibility: While installation and updates will no longer be provided for these unsupported operating systems, the protocol will remain compatible with the last compatible version. This compatibility will be maintained for as long as it’s feasible and practical to ensure a smooth transition.
Important Date
On February 14, 2024, support for the above listed operating systems will cease. If you are currently running RIM on a legacy operating system, we recommend considering an upgrade to a supported operating system to continue receiving future updates and support. The minimum supported Windows versions will be Windows 10 (X64 only) and Windows Server 2016.
Why This Change?
The decision to discontinue legacy operating system support aligns with industry standards and allows us to focus on providing the best possible experience for users on more recent and secure operating systems. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our support team. Thank you for your continued trust in Pneuma Solutions.
