By integrating our RIM cloud service into their critically acclaimed visual interpretation service, Aira provides a quick, painless and fully accessible method for receiving assistance with a visually challenging problem on your Windows or Mac computer. RIM was designed with the needs of visually impaired people at both ends of the technical support process in mind. As such, the process for the recipient is designed with maximum accessibility and simplicity.

If you’re new to Aira, download the app on your iPhone or Android device. The app is free to download, however purchasing a plan requires you to call their customer care phone number, which is (800)835-1934 in the U.S. As such, if you do not have a smartphone, you can still sign up for a plan and get computer-based assistance via Aira’s Web-app on any computer with a microphone and webcam installed.
Downloading RIM
RIM is completely free to download. In fact, you do not have to pay us anything in order to receive remote assistance via RIM. Simply download RIM onto your Windows or macOS machine and follow the installation instructions for your specific platform.
Using RIM with an Agent
Now that you’ve gotten everything set up, you’re ready to make your first call! All of Aira’s highly trained agents can use RIM, so all you need to do is simply ask them to help you with your task using RIM. The agent will then ask you for a keyword, at which point they will enter it into their RIM application. At this point, you can prepare your setup by pressing Windows+Shift+Backspace on Windows, or Option+Shift+Backspace on a Mac. Once the agent lets you know they’re ready, you can then enter the requested keyword and then press enter. Within seconds, the connection will be established, and Aira will be able to provide remote assistance with the task at hand! Once the task is done, either party can disconnect the connection via Windows+Shift+D on Windows, or Option+Shift+D on a Mac.
